F5 (NASDAQ: FFIV) has announced a collaboration with Intel to advance the security and efficiency of AI services. This partnership combines F5’s NGINX Plus, known for its robust application security and traffic management, with Intel’s OpenVINO toolkit and Infrastructure Processing Units (IPUs) to offer improved protection and performance for AI inference.
As AI adoption grows, ensuring efficient and secure inference is crucial. The OpenVINO toolkit accelerates AI model inference, while F5 NGINX Plus provides traffic management, security, and high availability. NGINX Plus acts as a reverse proxy, managing traffic and securing communications with SSL termination and mTLS encryption.
Intel IPUs enhance performance by offloading infrastructure tasks from the CPU, allowing AI model servers to perform more effectively. This integration is especially valuable for edge applications like video analytics and IoT, where low latency and high performance are essential.
Kunal Anand, CTO at F5, emphasized that this collaboration aims to deliver a scalable and secure AI solution, enabling enterprises to deploy AI services with superior performance and security. Pere Monclus, CTO of Intel’s Network and Edge Group, noted that combining Intel’s acceleration technologies with F5’s security solutions simplifies and strengthens AI inference.
Pratik Shah, Managing Director for India & SAARC at F5, highlighted the growing importance of AI in India and how this partnership reflects a commitment to providing advanced, secure AI solutions.
